One of my sister’s made this cake yesterday as a birthday cake for the family party for my elder son’s 16th birthday. I couldn’t work out why she’d made such a tall cake until she cut into it 🙂
She got the recipe from Say it with Cake. The icing didn’t go as beautifully smooth as the original but the proportions of icing to cake were better. Apparently the different colour layers took different times to cook. I’ll have to try this one day, it is very impressive when you cut into it and the slices look lovely on a plate.
